화기작업 가상현실 시뮬레이션(LG화학) VR Simulation Safety Preparation

Overview

화학공장에서 가장 주의해야 하는 안전사고는 가연성·인화성 물질로인한 폭발사고 입니다.

화기작업은 다양한 안전절차를 통해서 준비해야하는 과정이기 때문에 관련 작업자들에게 필요한 내용을 전달하기에는 기존방식이 비효율적이었습니다.

이에 판타웍스는 정확한 절차가 반영되고 현장감을 충분히 살린 VR을 통해 실전 투입 전에 쉽게 교육할 수 있는 화기작업전 안전작업 시뮬레이션을 개발하게 되었습니다.

Strategy

판타웍스는 정확한 프로세스를 이해하기 위해서 다양한 리서치를 바탕으로 한 아이데이션 및 클라이언트와 협업을 통해 화기작업의 시뮬레이션 방향을 정의하는 것에서부터 시작하였습니다.

화기작업에서 가장 중요한 원칙과 작업과정의 필수안전사항을 전 과정에 녹여내는 고민이 필요했습니다. 

복잡한 파이프라인은 현장검증을 통해 정확하게 구현하였으며, VR 인터랙션을 통해 전체공정을 쉽게 이해하며 움직임으로 인한 motion sickness를 최소화하는 UX를 적용하였습니다.

LG 화학 화기작업안전 VR Simulation 프로젝트는 안전한 시설유지보수에 있어 필요한 화기작업으로 발생하는 화재 사고를 예방하고 관련 작업자가 정확한 프로세스를 이해하여 체계적인 관리가 가능한 교육을 경험할 수 있습니다.

화기작업을 위한 전기적 차단부터 작업현황판 준비 교육까지 필요한 제반사항이 정확하게 반영되어 효과적인 교육이 가능하도록 제작되었습니다.

Background

Safety preparation at a chemical plant is an essential process as working with flammable sustances is highly risky.  Before a worker gets into welding, you need to make the site safe including cutting off the power and take personal protective equipment.

Purpose

Safety Preparation VR Simulation instructs workers to understand what the exact process before working with flammable substances through Interactive objects in the virtual site. 

Process

Fantaworks researched chemical plant process flow at site so that it could reflect the actual procedure and our team learned safety duties with related documents assigned by authority. 

We worked with our client closely and let them be a part of the project
